Animal Proteome DataBase (AniProtDB)

The Animal Proteome Database (AniProtDB) is a comprehensive collection of proteomes from 100 species spanning 21 animal phyla. This site provides open access to these high-quality metazoan proteomes, taxonomic-specific queries for predicted proteins and protein domains, and a BLAST interface for performing sequence similarity searches against the proteomes. Details about each proteome are provided on the AniProtDB Statistics page.

Data for each phylum, class, and species represented in the database are presented in the Downloads section of the site, including predicted protein sequences and protein domain information where available. The Proteome Search and Protein Domain Search tools can be used to interrogate the database for sequences and domains of interest. Sequence similarity searches against individual proteomes, combinations of proteomes, or all proteomes can be performed through the BLAST interface.

The Pipeline Overview section provides information on how the data included in this database were generated, as well as instructions for those interested in applying the proteome generation pipeline to their own data.
